In Gear

A new project (as if I didn't have enough already, lol), I have plans to construct a weight-driven mechanical clock. These preliminary gear designs are to find out which patterns are both mechanically sound and aesthetically pleasing. Ranging in size from about 1 inch to 5 inches in diameter, they are laser-cut from 1/4 inch poplar. The final parts will likely be cut from baltic birch plywood to reduce warpage and weakness along the grain. Regardless of the final outcome, I'm sure these will make great drink coasters. (or spare parts for my steampunk temporal-transporter)
