Apple Bytes II by =savageworlds. A wonderful Art Nouveau aluminum work with lots of lovely beveled edges. Made to fit not only the cover of a customer's MacBook Pro, but it also cleverly and perfectly exposes the Apple logo. For technical information, please refer to the artist's comments. Description

Not the best photo, but most of the details came through.
!/8" aluminum sheet (approx. 8"x13") designed to fit around the Apple logo on a MacBook Pro.(simulated here by a fabric background with a paper cutout logo)
Beveled edges and cutting performed on a Gerber 3-axis CNC router. Art Nouveau design (by me) was laid out in AutoCad.
Custom design for ~slmuse [link]
Design and Layout: approx. six hours / Cut time: approx. two hours.

A DD??? How incredibly delightful!! :boogie: *blushes while performing a genteel curtsey before the roaring crowd* LOL
Heartfelt thanks to *Talia-May, ~mayana, and ^Kitten-of-Woe and all of the DA artists who have faved this piece.

This is amazing, I've never seen aluminum covers

I have a question, coming from someone unexperienced with the metal medium: How do you keep the aluminum from scratching the laptop when moving it around? (Assuming that the laptop will go in a case, where there's pressure on the aluminum piece between from the laptop bag padding and the laptop itself, or slight shifts when lifting and moving the laptop.) Do you use a velvet padding on the the other side of the aluminum, or do you apply a finish to the aluminum edges so that they don't scratch?

It's giving me new ideas to pursue for laptop covers. definite :+fav: to keep me inspired. :-)
